Why Buy a Piano From Us?

1. Value.

Our overhead is super low. Our little piano shop is located at our home near downtown Olympia, so we don’t have to pay for commercial retail space. We are family owned and operated and we don’t hire professional salespeople. That means the money you pay for our instruments goes into refined workmanship that makes our pianos a cut above the rest! Yet, if you compare our prices you’ll see we are very competitive.

2. Reputation

Registered Piano Technicians Guild member, Ryan Sowers, has one of the best reputations in the business. He services pianos for most of the prestigious teachers and performers in the area.  His dedication to the Piano Technicians Guild has allowed him to study with some of the most well-respected technicians in the United States. Ryan has received specialized training at both Yamaha North American Headquarters in Los Angeles, and the Steinway & Sons factory in New York.

3. Musicianship

As an advanced pianist, Ryan can experience the instrument not just as a technician, but as a musician. This allows him to bring a level of refinement to his technical work that would not otherwise be possible.

4. No Pressure

When you come to see one of our pianos you won’t be pressured into making a decision right away. In fact, we always encourage people to take their time when purchasing a piano.  What is important is that you make the right choice for you. Since you’ll be dealing directly with the technician you’ll be sure to get accurate information without all the sales hype.

A World Class Piano!

1984 7’6” Model C7 Conservatory Grand by Yamaha

This incredible piano belongs to Jessica Williams

2 time Grammy Nominee and living Jazz legend!

The Yamaha C7 is one of the most respected pianos in the world and one of Yamaha’s most successful designs. This piano was purchased by Jessica Williams in 2006 from Classic Piano in Portland. At that time it had received a brand new set of famous Renner Blue hammers.

This piano has been very well cared for.  For the past few years we have been responsible for maintaining the touch and tone for this very discriminating artist. It has been tuned several times per year and has excellent tuning stability. Jessica has a high level of respect for the piano, and treats it with great care.

1965 5’4” Mason & Hamlin Model “B”

Ebony with polished nickle acents

Although this beautiful sounding/ playing piano is little rough on the outside, it has a heart of gold! We rescued it from a state surplus auction and have invested many hours bringing out its potential. It has a very smooth responsive action and a wonderful rich yet bright tone. Its biggest flaw is the finish. In order to keep the price affordable we decided not to refinish it, but gave it a “touch up”.  The perfect piano for a serious pianist on a budget.

          SOLD!                        BETTER THAN NEW!

1995 Samick 42” Continental Style

Polished Mahogany

Click HERE to visit company web site

We purchased this cute modern piano from the original owner. It received only occasional gentle use judging by the condition of the mechanism. It is better than new because the regulation and voicing that we have performed is much more refined than what you will see with brand-new Samick pianos. It has aged enough for the tuning stability to be much better than with a new piano.

Satin Walnut

Yamaha pianos are famous for the solid construction, reliable mechanics, responsive actions, and excellent resale value! This is the largest size upright that Yamaha makes. The larger size means it has longer strings, which provide a more even and full-sounding tone. It also gives the sound a lot more oomph in the bass section!

Another great piano that is in super shape! Although the case has a bit of normal wear and tear, this piano is in terrific mechanical condition. We checked with Yamaha and confirmed that this piano was seasoned for the North American market (this is not a so-called “gray market” piano).

We are always looking for unusual and high-end models from our distributor, and this is a perfect example!   We really appreciate the large music desk which pivots outwards to release more sound, and gives much more support to the music than the more common U-3 model.

Plays like a dream!

From “The Piano Book” by Larry Fine: “My sense is that the GS pianos “sing” [compared to the KG series] a little better…Kawai says the principal difference is that much more time is spent voicing and adjusting these pianos.”

From the Piano book Supplement: “Kawai’s quality control is excellent. Major problems are rare...because the touch is so good, Kawai grands are often sought by classical pianists as a less-expensive alternative to a Steinway”
